Oh, my faithful TALES OF MR. RHEE readers, I cannot tell you how exceptionally excited I am to be bringing you this next volume of my favorite series I have the privilege of writing and creating. I know I closed TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 5 on a helluva shocking closing panel, and for those of you who've been waiting so patiently (or perhaps impatiently), rest assured, this new volume picks-up almost immediately after where we left-off.
Furthermore, this newest installment features some pretty significant story-lines that tie not only back to the very first volume of TALES OF MR. RHEE (*cough*ScottTheVampire*cough*) but also all the way back to Mr. Rhee's early appearance in NIGHTMARE WORLD...

If you didn't know that Mr. Rhee had a few small cameo appearances in NIGHTMARE WORLD, well, now you know!
We can also file under "No Coincidences" that Austin McKinley was the illustrator of that story, just as he's the illustrator of this newest volume of the book, joined by colorist Colin Johnson (HOMESTEAD, LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT) and our longtime editor extraordinaire Drena Jo (TWIZTID HAUNTED HIGH-ONS, RSVP: E.S.P.). That stunning and powerful cover is by Mike Krome (LADY DEATH), and I absolutely could not be happier with it.
If I'm doing the math correctly, TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 6: "Blood for Blood" will put us at over 900 pages deep into this horror-noir story, with Mr. Rhee being suddenly and unexpectedly charged with protecting a potentially divine stranger from the Vampire Queen and her brood, all of whom suspect his blood holds the key to them achieving true immortality.
(Plus, if you pledged at the "Hey, look! That's me!" level last time, you're not in this volume as either a vampire or a victim, as per your request -- and you all got some good speaking roles, too... so make sure your friends know you're in the book if they'll want to support your big debut!)

That right there is the informal tagline for RSVP: E.S.P., my newest graphic about a pair of omega-level psychic children who are literally going to war for the reality of a scientist who has no idea how strong their powers really are...
RSVP: E.S.P.is a 120+ page graphic novel written by me and based on a a previously unpublished story by NY Times bestselling author Josh Malerman, whose novels include BIRD BOX (which became a viral worldwide sensation) and most recently the extremely horrifying INCIDENTS AROUND THE HOUSE (which was just earlier today to now be an upcoming film starring Jessica Chastain).

Artist Austin McKinley and colorist Colin Johnson are both plugging away on TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 6, and the pages are looking absolutely stunning on this one. I don't want to spoil too much, but here's a tiny peek from early in the book:

As I'm typing this LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION is currently at the printer, and that should deliver to backers right around the time RSVP: E.S.P. goes to the printer. Once RSVP: E.S.P. is at the printer, we'll then do the final prep work necessary to launch the Kickstarter campaign for TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 6, a book which is both the funniest and the scariest/darkest installment of the RHEE series to date.
(Seriously -- if editor Drena Jo was in the same room with me when she read the script, I think she would have throttled me for letting the story get as dark as it does... but... hey... it's not like I'm really in control of these characters at this point, you know?)
I'll be in touch again here as we're prepping the launch for TALES OF MR. Hello my wonderful friends of TALES OF MR. RHEE... or would that be RHEE-ders?
Either way, I hope this quick note finds you all well, as I have some exciting news to share!
First off, TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 5 artist Austin McKinley recently read the full script for TALES OF MR. RHEE Volume 6... and has officially signed-on to join me in bringing the book to life! Huzzah! I, like many of you, absolutely loved his artwork on RHEEv5, and I wrote RHEEv6 specifically with his style and story-telling sensibilities in mind, so this news delights me very much!
Before he starts up on that book, though, I'm excited to share that Austin has recently launched a Kickstarter for his creator-owned magnum opus graphic novel RIOT FORCE: TOOLS OF THE RICH, a 300-page cyber-tech action/adventure graphic novel filled with humor and compelling team-driven storytelling.
